Among other custom equioment we
are equipped with the Minolta Vivid 900 Laser Scanner
which allows us to scan small items from 5mm to
Lifesize scans, including people. We also have full
access to scanners with capabilities of scanning
full body, vehicles, and more.

After
the scans are made, we use powerful 3-D sculpting
programs such as Sensable Freeform Maya and others to manipulate
the original scans to achieve the desired look, filesize, texture and License approval.
With digital 3D printout capabilities, we are then
able to transfer the figure to our traditional hand
sculpting skills.
As
shown in these screen shots, we have the flexibility
to create multiple expressions with the original
Mike Myers head scan. Here you see expressions of
Austin Powers, Dr. Evil and Mini Me.
For
smaller items and accessories, we utilize our various Laser, Optic or touch probe scanners. Capable of scanning up to 0.0002"
Case study: Action man scan from original 12”
figure needed to be reduced with Mattel’s approval
for the McDonald’s Premium program. The head
was originally 4” tall and was reduced without
losing any detail to 0.5” in height.Scanned at 0.0006"
Our
various 3D Printers allows us to output
our computer generated figures into real form to
be touched up and finished by our professional sculptors.
